The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) is currently seeking a Publications Administrative Assistant, a part-time position located in Washington, DC.
Under the direction of the Director of Publications and Production, the Publications Administrative Assistant provides support to the Publications team. The position coordinates all fulfillment activities and inventory maintenance, working closely with the third-party fulfillment contractor; schedules and distributes publications in print and digital formats through online system to members and Association staff; fields customer service questions; updates ISBN logs and copyright registrations; prepares meeting logistics and shipments; assists with production preparation and completion; distributes division mail; covers front desk breaks one day a week; and other tasks as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of three to five years of administrative experience in an office environment, and publishing experience is a positive. Prior work must demonstrate evidence of professional growth and increasing responsibility. Previous association or non-profit work is desirable, but not required.
Excellent demonstrated written and oral communications needed, as well as high-level organizational and time-management skills, and extensive experience using MS Office products is essential for this position. Good cognitive skills and basic English composition is required. The incumbent must have the ability to multi-task, to work under pressure, and to meet deadlines.
A high school diploma is required. College-level course work in a related field is desired but not required.
