Government Relations Manager

OVERVIEW: Axiom Space is an emerging leader in human spaceflight and on-orbit research & manufacturing services. SUMMARY: The Government Relations Manager will coordinate legislative efforts by working with state, local and federal governments as well as the media. The Government Relations Manager will manage and assist in the direction of Axiom Space policies and objectives involving local, state and federal governments.


  • Conduct research and monitor legislation, as well as track happenings within the government that could affect Axiom Space
  • Liaise directly with the U.S. Federal government, particularly the Congress, but also the White House (OMB, OSTP and other Executive Offices), the Departments of Commerce (Office of Space Commerce) and Transportation (Office of Commercial Space Transportation) and NASA. Registration as a lobbyist is likely necessary
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable of aerospace public policy, regulatory and industry positions
  • Lead the analysis of proposed legislative actions, determines the potential impact on the organization and develops appropriate responses
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory activities and promotes company market position
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the role
  • Attend industry association meetings and initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education &Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Law, Communications or another relevant area required with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in managing a government affairs function including the management of internal and external resources and consultants
  • Government experience as congressional aid or in a lobbying firm or law firm
  • Familiarity with the Federal Election Campaign Act and with corporate separate segregated funds-SSF (PACs), and analogous state and local campaign contribution laws and regulations
  • Strong relationships with Congressional staff and members and strategic partners
  • Experience in planning and executing virtual or in-person Capitol Hill advocacy days and events
  • Experience producing written materials for both internal and external stakeholders
