Capitol Hill The U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, Majority office, seeks a Labor Counsel/Professional staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing legislative and policy proposals; drafting policy memoranda; attending constituent and stakeholder meetings; and preparing for Congressional hearings and floor debate. Applicants should have knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act, Mine Safety and Health Act, and other employment law statutes. They also must work well under pressure and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
